These Freshman scientists are changing the freezing point of solvents by using different solutes. It mimics how the DOT uses things like salt and beet brine on roadways to lower the freezing point of the road deck during winter plowing, or how using salt on a sidewalk helps to clear ice and snow. Cool project Mr. Huber! And cool goggles kids! 🧑🏼🔬👩🏼🔬🤣

Mock trial for The Crucible in Mr. Eichelberger’s class! Mr. Shaffer's POD class represented the jury and Mr. Shaffer presided over the court.
This was the final for their Crucible Unit and the goal was to learn through doing. Lawyers for each side had to prepare a case for or against Abigail Williams. Witnesses had to analyze the character they played and act as that person may have acted in court and provide textual evidence to make their stance known. During the process all four primary English components were used: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Final verdict: the jury (seniors) found Abigail not guilty, but found her guilty of 19 counts of perjury, which resulted in a draw.
What a cool project!
