Rocket Volleyball Fans!
The regional volleyball games that were scheduled for this Thursday night in Devils Lake have now been changed to TOMORROW (Wednesday) because of the likelihood that there will be a storm on Thursday.
Come cheer the Rockets on TONIGHT and TOMORROW in Devils Lake!
Tis the season for ugly weather!
The weather forecast at this point looks pretty tough; wind, rain/snow Wednesday evening possibly through Saturday. It's possible that we may need to make plans for an online learning day on Thursday. The typical weather practice is to call a late start, via the instant alert system and social media by 6pm-ish the night before. That gives us time to reassess in the early morning and make a closure decision if necessary, well in advance of anyone's needed travel.
If closed, we will reschedule Parent/Teacher conferences.

Every Tuesday and Friday we will be featuring special people in the Rocket family! Today's feature is LUCAS WEISENBURGER our O-M Manager. NR-S is so lucky to have Lucas a part of our team and we are thankful for everything he does for us day in and day out!
There will be a JH GBB meeting (grades 6-8) after school in the front lobby by the gym on Thursday. If you can't make but are interested, see Coach Jensen.
Winter "NBA" basketball registration for boys and girls 1st grade through 6th grade will be on Tuesday, November 15th!! Josh Guler will be at the area outside of the gym at 8:00 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. on November 15th. If your child would like to participate in this program just stop there at either of those times and sign up and get your child's jersey. First scheduled day of practice will be December 3rd at 9 a.m. for grades 3-5 and 10 a.m. for grades 1-2.
Book Fair is open until 3:45 today through Wednesday and also will be open from 3:30 to 8:30 during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday. Sales Tax will be added this year.
Wienerschnitzel Feed on Wednesday at the Eagles!! Serving from 5:00 to 8:00. Take-outs welcome. Benefit for the Second Gym Project. Enter a drawing for a chance to win a prize!!

This is just a small handful of the kids who showed up to support Bailey at her benefit last night! Kids pitched in by selling bracelets and 50/50 tickets, cleaning tables, taking out trash, helping serve food and anything else they were asked to do. We have such great students at NR-S!

This week we will spotlight Mrs. Rzaszutak, FACS teacher! NR-S is so lucky to have her on board! Here are a few things you might not know about her :)

Every year the North Dakota American Choral Directors Association hosts the Surround the State in Song Choral Festival. The festival happens simultaneously in six North Dakota locations: Bismarck, Jamestown, Minot, Dickinson, Fargo, and Grand Forks. The festival provides an enrichment opportunity for young singers to perform in an honor choir along with other select singers from the area, and to learn from a guest conductor.
This year we had eight elementary students participate in the festival located in Jamestown; Theodore Hall, Evan Hultgren, Rosalee Irmen, Joshua Lukach, Liza Steele, and Neecie Swart. Last year’s participant was Angelina Hall.
We will have a public performance of One Act on Sunday, November 6 at 4:00 PM at the Old Church Theater.
The one act show is “Keepers at the Edge of the Sea” by Ann Marie Oliva

Welcome to the newest members of the NR-S Chapter of the National Honor Society! Selection to the NHS should be considered one of the highest honors for a high school student. These students demonstrate four qualities considered for induction into the NHS: SCHOLARSHIP, SERVICE, LEADERSHIP, and CHARACTER. Today we honor these 12 sophomore students who have been recognized as the 16th group to be accepted into the New Rockford-Sheyenne chapter of the NHS:
Ava Bullinger, Hannah Chamberlain, Bradyn Collier, Addysen Fandrich, Bailey Jacobson, Jacob Louters, Abigail Nystrom, Kaiya O’Connor, Andrew Storstad, Tillie Swart, Kage Walford, Brody Weisenburger.
