It is our priority this afternoon to get our students and staff home safely. All weather reports indicate that the wind will dissipate at approximately 4 pm. Currently roads are drifting in spots and visibility is intermittently compromised. A road and visibility assessment will be taken again at 2:00 pm. today and at that time a decision will be made regarding when the buses will run the afternoon route. The afternoon routes may be delayed to ensure the safety of our students and drivers. Plans are currently being made to ensure that students on bus routes have snacks and activities if they are required to remain at school this afternoon for a period of time. This information will be communicated via the Instant Alert and Facebook. Again, at this time we will plan to release all of our students at the regular time. Students riding buses may be delayed this afternoon if the weather conditions dictate this.

On Feb. 10, Ten 7th graders volunteered to take part in activities for Building Tomorrow's Leaders Jr. The students took part in 6 different modules such as Principles of Leadership, Effective Communication, Career Preparation, Conflict Management, Community and State Exploration and Designing a Service Project. They interacted through Zoom with students from Devils Lake and took part in several fun activities. The students plan to sell jerky to pay for their trip to the Junior High Student Council Conference in April. Students will come back from the conference and inform other students what they learned in an effort to build our student council program at NR-S. So please ask our students about jerky and support our growing program!
